When Delhi-based fashion designer Sagrika Mittal Goyal became a mom, she realised there were very little options in the kind of kids' clothing she was looking for. She then went on to launch her own kids' designer label Coochhie Coo (with stores in Gurgaon and MGF Metropolitan Saket in Delhi) and even received the Best Kids Wear Brand award by Indian Federation of Fashion Development (IFFD) for her label this year.

A law and MBA graduate, Sagrika is now all set to launch a new women's wear store in the capital. The store, primarily targeting brides-to-be, will house everything from sangeet and cocktail dresses to night wear and after-wedding dinner attires. Friends and relatives of the bride can expect a whole lot of options too.

Tell us about your latest collection.
My latest collection is hugely inspired from Radha, and her various avatars. She is the epitome of love in Hindu mythology and I love how she is depicted
with flowers and vibrant colours resonating with the peace harboured with the love of Krishna. So the collection uses lotus, peacocks and is drenched in the colours of true love.

You are new to the fashion fraternity. How difficult is it for designers to break into the fashion industry?
I don't think that it's really difficult for good work to get noticed – sooner or later you reach your target group and the market is huge, so everyone who comes in gets his or her share. I recently concluded a show in the capital, and have received rave reviews.

What are the latest trends this Fall-Winter?
This Fall-Winter, the anarkali skirt trend is still burning hot but I see a trend for more functional garara paired with shorter shirts too. Also, sari jackets are going to be huge, so my advice is to bunk your Pashminas and invest in a heavy embroidered sari jacket that can also be used as an achakan over a pair of cigarette pants.

What are your future plans?
My plans are to invest in a series of bridal lehengas, and also to tap the overseas market with my upcoming exhibition in Dubai.

Pick five fashion essentials for a working woman's wardrobe
• A conventional gold border sari in silk or georgette in a pastel palette for summers and darker shade for winter, which can be teamed with a classic eight-inch sleeved blouse, and a corset blouse for the evening.

• A black jacket from a label that speaks about structural tailoring is a good runner. This can be worn over a skirt or a trousers or even a sari.

• Investing in to a good branded watch is a must for any lady who rules her time. A nice watch not only adds to the style score but also is a not-to-leave-home-without accessory for all the days fi lled on the planner. My personal favourites are Omega and Chopard.

• A pair of wedged heels where style meets comfort for toes that will step on the ladder going upwards only!

• Investing into a good roomy yet classic bag like the Dior Panarea in a colour to match your wardrobe.
